ASG Offers On-site Grading of Stamps in Shanghai in January

Authenticated Stamp Guaranty™ (ASG™) has announced its first on-site authentication, grading and encapsulation event in Shanghai. The event will be held Jan. 22-28 at the Shanghai offices of NGC Shanghai Business Information Consulting Co., Ltd., the China-based affiliate of ASG.
All submissions for this event must be received at the ASG office in Shanghai by January 19, 2018, to be eligible.
Only modern (1974 to present) paper, gold and silver Chinese stamps in the following sizes will be accepted: 23 x 27 mm, 27 x 30 mm, 26 x 31 mm and 36 x 36 mm. Additional types and sizes are planned to be accepted for the next ASG on-site grading event, scheduled for April 2018.

While ASG will endeavor to complete all submissions within one week, turnaround times depend on the volume and type of submissions received, and therefore ASG cannot guarantee the turnaround time.

Stamps determined to be genuine by ASG are graded according to a 100-point scale, with a Gem 100 being defined as having no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification. To ensure impartiality, ASG’s graders are prohibited from buying and selling commercially and never know the identity of a stamp’s submitter. Multiple professional graders examine every stamp for consistency.
After stamps are graded, they are securely encapsulated in ASG’s holder, which was custom-built using high-quality, inert materials to provide superior long-term preservation. Stamps are encapsulated with an attractive ASG certification label that features a description of the stamp, its ASG grade and other relevant details, as well as a unique identification number for the holdered stamp.
